Step 1: Contact me first
Before you send anything, call or message me with what you'd like sharpened. You can send photos for a quote. I'll confirm the price, turnaround and the right Australia Post satchel size so nothing arrives unexpected.
Step 2: Protect every edge
- Clean and dry each item first
- Cover every knife edge — a blade guard, folded cardboard taped over the edge, or a thick wrap of newspaper all work
- Close scissors and wrap each pair separately
- Wrap animal clipper blades individually so the teeth can't knock against each other
- Make sure no point or edge can push through the packaging
Step 3: Pack it firmly
Put the wrapped items in a small box or padded bag so they can't move around, then into a prepaid Australia Post satchel. Items that rattle can damage each other or the satchel. Choose the satchel size by how much space the wrapped items take up, not just what they weigh.
Step 4: Include a note
- Your name, phone number and email
- Your return postal address
- A list of what's in the parcel
- Anything I should know — chips, a preferred edge, blades that need checking
Step 5: Post it with tracking
Post it by Registered Post so it is tracked and signed for, then text or email me the tracking number. Keep your receipt. For valuable items, such as Japanese knives or a full set of professional grooming scissors, consider adding Extra Cover from Australia Post.
What happens when it arrives
When your parcel arrives I check everything against your note. Items are sharpened using the same water-cooled and machine-guided process as drop-off work. I'll let you know the total, you pay by internet banking or card, and your items are posted back with tracking.
